After spending several years in my late twenties living in Mexico City, I was able to try all the different Mexican beers – from Corona to Sol.
When I think of the best Mexican beers, I think of a crisp and refreshing lager with a touch of lime. I would enter the nearest OXXO convenience store, grab a box of lager, and head off to the beach.
Paying tribute to the rich culture and traditions of Mexico, the best non-alcoholic Mexican beer allows you to enjoy a fiesta without compromising your health or sobriety.

Corona Cero
If you’ve been looking for a non-alcoholic beer that tastes like Corona, you’ll be glad to know that Corona has its own non-alcoholic beer – the Corona Cero.
When I was living in Mexico, Corona was the beer of choice for many of my friends and me. Brewed by Grupo Modelo, this mass-market lager is found easily in every supermarket and corner store, and the price versus taste ratio makes it a good beer option.
Corona is not going to win any awards, but I like that the non-alcoholic version is as light, crisp, and refreshing as the original. I recommend following the customary tradition by adding a small lime wedge.

Athletic Brewing Cerveza Atletica
While not technically a non-alcoholic beer brewed by a Mexican brewery, I really enjoyed Athletic Brewing’s Cerveza Atletica.
It is a non-alcoholic Mexican Light Copper lager with a similar flavor profile to many medium-bodied Mexican beers I’ve tasted.
Crafted using Vienna and Munich malts, as well as the German Hersbrucker noble hop, this non-alcoholic Mexican beer tastes of bready malts, spices, and some hints of apple.
In a way, the flavors reminds me a light Mexican beer or another Athletic Brewing’s beer, Athletic Lite.

Dos Equis Lime & Salt Zero
Dos Equis Lime & Salt Zero is my current favorite non-alcoholic Mexican beer. I think it tastes better than Corona Cero, plus the added lime and salt means I don’t need to rim my glass with more lime and salt.
Dos Equis Lime & Salt Zero is Dos Equis’ first non-alcoholic beverage, and it is a spin on the classic smooth tasting Mexican cerveza. I found the lime and salt flavors to be well-balanced without the beer being too lime-y or salty.
Besides drinking straight from the can or over ice, you can also use it as an alcohol-free option for margaritas. It is great for those who want to swap their alcoholic margaritas for a non-alcoholic option.
If you’re in the United States, you can order directly from Dos Equis website or shop online via Instacart or Drizly.
Rationale Brewing Mexican Cerveza
Founded by Jamie Fay after having a conversation with his sons about making rational decisions on how much alcohol to drink at college, Rationale Brewing wants to appeal to the craft and mainstream beer drinker by offering a craft way to drink moderately.
This non-alcoholic Mexican lager from small-but-mighty Rationale Brewing is crisp, light, and crushable. It reminds us of being at the beach with a can in hand, while scoping out the next set of waves for a friend surfing.
