If you’re on a low-carb or the Keto diet, you’re following a low-carb, high-fat diet. By replacing carbohydrates with fats, you enable your body to burn fat for energy and lose weight.

On the Keto diet, the recommended intake is 70% fats, 20% protein, and only 10% carbs. One of the first things people give up on a Keto diet is beer because it has a high concentration of carbs.

You can drink non-alcoholic beers on the Keto diet, but not all of them are Keto-friendly in terms of their carbohydrate content. The amount of carbs in a non-alcoholic beer ranges from zero to more than 20 grams per 100ml.

Since the Keto diet requires limiting carbohydrate intake to no more than 50 grams per day, some non-alcoholic beers are too carb-heavy. These are my favorite low-carb NA beers that contain no more than 5g of carbohydrates per serving.

1. Partake Brewing Pale Ale – 0g Carbs

Partake-Brewing-Pale-Ale-Review-2

With only ten calories and zero carbs, this award-winning non-alcoholic craft pale ale by Partake Brewing is the best low-carb NA beer when you’re on the Keto diet and aiming to cut out unnecessary carbs.

Crafted from water, barley, hops, and yeast, I appreciate that this pale ale has a medium bitterness with flavors of orange zest, grapefruit, and a whisper of pine.

While I found the body to be a little thin and watery, at 0 carbs and 10 calories a can, I’m not about to complain much.

2. Big Drop Brewing Reef Point Craft Lager – <1.65g Carbs

Big Drop Brewing Reef Point Craft Lager

This UK low carb non-alcoholic beer from Big Drop Brewing is a malt-forward non-alcoholic beer with just 13 calories and less than 1.65 grams of carbs per can.

I like that this craft lager has a gentle bitterness and a strong malt backbone, supported by a soft, honey aroma and citrus notes.

For a non-alcoholic low carb beer, the body and mouthfeel does not feel too thin or watery.

Order from non-alcoholic drinks retailer Dry Drinker (within the UK)

3. Partake Brewing IPA – 2g Carbs

This is another low-carb non-alcoholic beer from Partake Brewing that I regularly enjoy. This low-carb IPA has just 10 calories and 2 grams of carbs per can.

I appreciate the citrusy hops and sweet malty aroma notes, along with its light, bubbly body and lingering hints of grapefruit. Although I do find the body a bit thin for an IPA.

4. BrewDog Nanny State – 2.3g Carbs

Reviewing the BrewDog Nanny State non-alcoholic beer

Not only is BrewDog Nanny State one of the best tasting non-alcoholic beers we’ve tried (read our full review of BrewDog Nanny State here), it is also low in carbs and calories.

Containing just 20 calories and 2.3g carbs per serving, this hoppy bitter golden is a delicious low carb non-alcoholic beer option.

Order from non-alcoholic drinks retailers Proof No More as part of a BrewDog mixed pack (within the United States).

5. Drop Bear Yuzu Pale Ale – 4.3g Carbs

Drop Bear Beer Yuzu Pale Ale

Here’s another Keto-friendly non-alcoholic beer we found in the UK. Brewed in Wales, this yuzu pale ale has just 35 calories and 4.3 grams of carbs per can.

I think it tastes delicious with a splash of yuzu (one of my favorite citrus flavors; imagine a blend of lemon, lime, and grapefruit) and a touch of toffee, dry hopped with refreshing floral and grapefruit hops.

Unfortunately I can’t find this low-carb NA beer outside the UK (yet).

Order from non-alcoholic drinks retailer Dry Drinker (within the UK)

6. RationAle Brewing West Coast IPA – 4.6g Carbs

RationAle Brewing West Coast IPA

This sessionable West Coast IPA has 65 calories and 4.6 grams of carbs per can. I found its medium body enjoyable, although I thought the hop flavors could have been stronger.

For those on a Keto diet, this refreshing and light low-carb non-alcoholic beer is worth a try.

Order from RationAle Brewing (within the United States)

7. Athletic Brewing Athletic Lite – 5g Carbs

Reviewing Athletic Lite by Athletic Brewing

This light and crisp brew from Athletic Brewing Co. has 25 calories and 5 grams of carbs per can.

If you’re seeking a non-alcoholic beer on the lighter side in terms of hop bitterness, maltiness, and body, then Athletic Lite is the perfect choice for you.

Carbs In Non-Alcoholic Beers

On average, we have found that non-alcoholic beers have around 4 grams of carbs per 100 ml or 16 grams of carbs per serving.

There are non-alcoholic beers with less than the average amount of carbs, like the low carb non-alcoholic beers recommended.

Since the Keto diet requires that you limit the intake of carbohydrates to no more than 50 grams per day, you can enjoy these low carbs non-alcoholic beers in moderation on a Keto diet.

Conclusions

Not all non-alcoholic beers are keto-friendly or low in carbs, so be sure to check the nutrition label and consider the carbohydrate content.

With these seven low-carb non-alcoholic beers, there is no reason why you can’t enjoy a non-alcoholic beer in moderation when you’re on the Keto diet!
