With so many non-alcoholic beers entering the market, it can be tough to know which ones are worth trying. That’s why we’ve put together this guide to our favorite non-alcoholic beers.
After tasting and reviewing close to a hundred non-alcoholic beers, we have created a list of non-alcoholic beers that are tastier and better brewed than the average non-alcoholic beers.
From non-alcoholic hoppy IPAs to sippable wheat beers, you’ll have no trouble finding the best non-alcoholic beers for you.
We Know A Lot About Non-Alcoholic Beers
Non-alcoholic beers are one of the most regularly reviewed drinks here at One Club Sober, so believe us when we say we know just about everything there is about alcohol-free beers.
That includes how good non-alcoholic beer should taste, what is a good mouthfeel and body, and the type of ingredients that can affect the taste of the beers.
Because taste is a personal preference, we try to include alternatives to our favorites so that you get to decide which non-alcoholic beer is best for you.
Our Favorite Non-Alcoholic Beers Overview
Non-Alcoholic IPA: Athletic Brewing Free Wave Hazy IPA
Non-Alcoholic Lager: Grüvi Non-Alcoholic Golden Lager
Non-Alcoholic Stout: Bravus Oatmeal Dark Stout
Non-Alcoholic Sour Beer: Partake Brewing Peach Gose
Non-Alcoholic IPA
Our Favorite: Athletic Brewing Free Wave Hazy IPA
The non-alcoholic beer we suggest for most people is Athletic Brewing’s non-alcoholic hazy IPA called Free Wave.
This brew boasts a delightful aroma of citrusy hops, a blend of Amarillo, Citra, and Mosaic – with a bright and strong bitterness that hoppy beer lovers will fall for.
This non-alcoholic IPA has to be one of our favorite non-alcoholic beers of all times. We love this Hazy IPA so much that we even raved about it in our full Free Wave tasting review.
Go ahead and try it – we think it is one of the best non-alcoholic beers in the market right now!

Untitled Art Juicy IPA
I love it when non-alcoholic beers surprise me with how hoppy and fruity the flavors are.
This non-alcoholic IPA boasts a delightful blend of tropical citrus and herbal notes that give way to a prickly, hoppy finish.
Untitled Art is a brewery based in Wisconsin that offers a wide variety of non-alcoholic beer options, but their Juicy IPA stands out as one of their best offerings.
The strong flavors, aroma, and bitter finish comes from the use of Mosaic and Citra hops, and we think fans of juicy IPAs will enjoy this.
Check out our review of the Untitled Art Juicy IPA for the full tasting review.

Lagunitas IPNA
Lagunitas has made a name for itself in the beer world and now they’re doing the same with their non-alcoholic IPA.
Featuring a blend of Mosaic, Citra, and Centennial hops, this near-beer is hop-forward and full of flavor—pine, spearmint, and a bit of citrus to be exact.
As fans of Lagunitas, we are glad the IPNA closely resembles the original Lagunitas; while its body is lighter than that of the regular Lagunitas IPA, there’s still plenty of bitterness and substance to consider IPNA a craft beer.

Flying Dog Deepfake
Here’s another juicy non-alcoholic beer we like, although it has a slightly thinner body than the Athletic Brewing Free Wave or the Untitled Art Juicy IPA.
With a blend of Mosaic, Simcoe, and Citra hops, this non-alcoholic IPA is refreshingly juicy and has a similar flavor and aroma notes to a juicy IPA.
The aroma reminded us of orange juice, and it also has notes of grapefruit and mango. Mixed together, this non-alcoholic IPA is fresh, light, and easy to drink.

Partake Brewing IPA
Partake Brewing’s non-alcoholic IPA is considered one of the best options available in its category.
Its deep orange color, caramel aroma, and refreshing taste reminiscent of a classic West Coast IPA make it an excellent choice.
We are able to taste the combination of Cascade, Amarillo, and Citrus hops that add fruity and floral notes with a subtle malt character.
This non-alcoholic IPA has a light and effervescent body with a delicate mouthfeel.

Bravus Non-Alcoholic Blood Orange IPA
Bravus has consistently produced great tasting non-alcoholic beers that I love, from this Orange Blood IPA to their Oatmeal Dark stout.
This Blood Orange IPA features prominent citrus notes, with the blood orange flavor being noticeable but not overpowering, adding depth to the brew.
I like that the mild sweetness balances the bold hop bitterness, while the dry finish and tartness give this IPA a pleasant bite.

Non-Alcoholic Lagers
Our Favorite: Grüvi Non-Alcoholic Golden Lager
Currently, my top pick among non-alcoholic lagers is Grüvi Golden. It nails exactly what a lager is supposed to be – crisp, clean, malt-forward, and incredibly crushable.
Grüvi Golden Lager clinched the Gold Medal for Non-Alcoholic Beer at the 2022 World Beer Cup Awards, and its popularity has soared ever since.
What sets this non-alcoholic lager apart is its classic and familiar feel.
I appreciate its simplicity, avoiding the pitfalls of being skunky or watery while delivering a satisfying and straightforward experience.

Untitled Art Italian Pilsner
Non-alcoholic pilsners sometimes feel too thin or watery, but not this pilsner from Untitled Art.
Even without the alcohol, Wisconsin-based Untitled Art has managed to create a pilsner that reminds me of Peroni.
Brewed with a blend of Hallertau Mittelfruh and Strata hops, I like that the flavor is crisp, bright, and slightly bitter.
For a non-alcoholic Pilsner, I think the mouthfeel has just the right amount of lightness without being too thin.

Heineken 0.0
You might be wondering why I’ve added Heineken 0.0 to the list – surely this mass-market non-alcoholic beer can’t be that good?
Well, Heineken has actually done a great job replicating the taste profile of the original Heineken – not that it has a complicated taste to begin with.
Fans of traditional Heineken will have a tough time telling the difference between the alcoholic and non-alcoholic versions. Like its counterpart, Heineken 0.0 has a balanced aroma and a tasting profile that blends malts and fruity hops.
This non-alcoholic beer might not be the best non-alcoholic beer you’ll taste, but I love it because it is accessible and affordable.
It is also why we keep bottles of Heineken 0.0 in our fridge – read our full Heineken 0.0 review here.

Brooklyn Brewery Special Effects Hoppy Amber
Brooklyn Brewery’s non-alcoholic beers were one of the first non-alcoholic beers that we fell in love with (this was back in the days before the likes of Athletic Brewing or Bravus).
Special Effects Hoppy Amber is an American Amber lager made with Caramel and Munich malts and an intense blend of hops (Mosaic, Citra, and Amarillo).
The base of this brew is fresh, zesty, sweet, and tropical, with just a hint of cereal maltiness in the background. There’s also a herbiness to this lager that gets stronger the more you drink.
We found that its body is impressive for a non-alcoholic beer and the touch of carbonation adds to the overall pleasant drinking experience.

Lucky Saint Unfiltered Lager
UK’s Lucky Saint uses centuries-old techniques to create a lager that’s both timeless and modern.
Made with a combination of water, hops, barley malt, and proprietary yeast, this lager delivers maximum flavor, minus the alcohol.
As an unfiltered beer, Lucky Saint pours a hazy amber color. It’s topped with a thick, satisfying head that sticks around until the last drop.
Tasting notes include malt and sweet lemon. I like that it is simple and satisfying, without being worty or dank.

Non-Alcoholic Stouts, Porters, and Dark Beers
Our Favorite: Bravus Non-Alcoholic Oatmeal Dark Stout
Dark beers have never been one of our favorite beer styles, but Bravus’ Oatmeal Dark is so delicious we can overlook the style.
A Silver medal winner at the 2019 Great American Beer Festival, this oatmeal dark stout has hints of chocolate, caramel, and roasted coffee.
Unsurprisingly, the result is smooth and incredibly refreshing (just read our full review of Bravus Oatmeal Dark to understand why).
Given its medium-body, this stout is surprisingly easy to drink and not at all filling. This has become one of our favorite non-alcoholic dark beers to stock up on.

Guinness 0.0 Stout
We’ve never been huge drinkers of Guinness, but Guinness 0.0 has convinced us there is a lot to love about dark beers.
That said, drinkers of regular Guinness will definitely notice the difference between their regular drink and the 0.0 Dry Stout, but that doesn’t mean the non-alcoholic version isn’t worth trying.
On the contrary, we found that Guinness 0.0 has a delicious roasted barley backbone and features notes of coffee, chocolate, vanilla, and grapefruit.
Thanks to the nitrogen used in the brewing process, the mouthfeel is creamy and almost disguises the lack of body.
All in all, this rich and filling stout will satisfy any Guinness craving, minus the alcohol and extra calories.

Drop Bear Brewing Company Bonfire Stout
Welsh Drop Bear’s Bonfire Stout is a dark alcohol-free beer made with smoky, roasted malts.
These flavors blend well with the notes of espresso, oat, and dark chocolate. Together, they create a beer reminiscent of a traditional Irish stout or a German Rauchbier.
This brew doesn’t have much carbonation but there’s enough to create a soft mouthfeel.
Overall, Bonfire Stout is one of the best stout stand-ins we’ve found.

Athletic Brewing Company All Out Extra Dark
Athletic Brewing describes All Out as a beer of contrasts. It’s light but also rich. Smooth, yet also complex. All Out pours black and definitely lives up to its extra dark name.
This non-alcoholic stout beer has notes of roasted nuts and dark coffee and finishes with just a touch of semi-sweet chocolate, although I found the mouthfeel and body to be a little thinner than expected.

Big Drop Brewing Company Galactic Milk Stout
After only a few years on the market, Galactic Milk Stout has racked up awards like World’s Best: Flavored Low Alcohol and Country Winner (United Kingdom) at the 2020 World Beer Awards.
The aroma is malt-heavy with whiffs of cocoa and coffee, which we can’t get enough of.
Unsurprisingly, these ingredients also come through in the flavor profile (with extra hints of vanilla and nut).
Like any milk stout worth its salt, Galactic has a thick mouthfeel and a fluffy head. In addition, there’s a decent amount of carbonation, which helps bring out the sweetness of the beer.

Nirvana Brewery Dark & Rich Stout
As its name suggests, this rich and chocolatey stout features dark roasted malts. Combined with hints of vanilla, we think it is well-balanced and drinkable all year round.
There are notes of wholemeal bread on the nose, plus a background of dried fruit and dark chocolate.
Taste-wise, there are hints of licorice, raisin, and treacle. These taper off the more you drink, leaving a dry finish.

Grüvi Stout
Grüvi’s stout features the aromas of dark caramel, molasses, oaky vanilla, and coffee. These scents are supported by a strong malty, roasty backbone and a dry, full body.
While the scent and appearance certainly resemble a traditional stout, the palate lacks a bit of the flavor you might expect from a full-alcohol beer.
Still, I found the finish to be satisfying with notes of ground coffee.

Untitled Art Chocolate Milk Stout
I love chocolate and this non-alcoholic milk stout is my secret indulgence.
The Untitled Art Chocolate Milk Stout from Wisconsin truly lives up to its name, offering a decadent flavor that will delight any chocolate lover.
Made with cacao nibs and milk sugar (lactose), this stout presents a harmonious blend of dark chocolate/cacao, roasted grains, and milk chocolate.
The luscious finish of this stout is sure to satisfy any sweet tooth, making it one of the best non-alcoholic stout beers I’ve tasted.

Woodland Farms Dark Stout
True to its name, the Pastry Porter is a rich and creamy brew.
Surreal has achieved this full-bodied texture by adding lactose and monk fruit to the mix, and I think this is a non-alcoholic stout with one of the better mouthfeels.
The taste is a beautiful blend of vanilla, coffee, and cacao, with the vanilla notes adding warmth and the cacao enhancing the chocolate undertones.
The Pastry Porter is perfect as an after-dinner treat or as a sweet break anytime.

Non-Alcoholic Wheat Beer
Mikkeller Drink’in the Sun
Sometimes we want a light, crushable non-alcoholic beer to drink with friends, and this has been a consistently good option.
Drink’in in the Sun is an American-style wheat beer with notes of herbs, peaches, and tropical fruit.
The palate is light-bodied and provides a healthy dose of peach, grapefruit, and herbs, allowing you to really enjoy the hops used to brew this beer.

Non-Alcoholic Sour Beers
Our Favorite: Partake Brewing Peach Gose
I like drinking sour beers during the summer, but many non-alcoholic sour beers taste more like sour juice than beer.
This Gose beer from Partake Brewing expertly balances sweet and spicy flavors with hints of coriander, sea salt, and natural peach flavor – without tasting like a sour juice.
While it may not be as sour or tart as some Gose beers, the Peach Gose is still incredibly refreshing and tasty.
I found that the peach notes are subtle enough to give you the sensation of drinking a beer with peach flavors, rather than peach juice.

Bravus Raspberry Gose
Here’s another delicious non-alcoholic sour beer that I enjoy.
The Bravus Raspberry Gose is a delightful and refreshing non-alcoholic Gose beer that features a tangy raspberry flavor.
I like that it strikes a perfect balance between sourness and tartness, and it has a subtle hint of pink salt that helps to offset the raspberry’s natural sweetness.
This award-winning Gose has received two gold medals and it’s easy to see why. If you’re a fan of raspberry lambics but prefer to avoid sugary drinks, the Bravus Raspberry Gose is definitely worth trying.

Woodland Farms Brewery Ruby Sour Ale
If you’re looking for a raspberry-based sour beer, this is one of my favorites. Woodland Farms Brewery’s Ruby Sour Ale is inspired by the Berliner Weisse and it is brewed with real raspberries.
The beer has a pleasantly sour taste with a slightly tart finish and a great mouthfeel. If you’re a fan of sour beers, this fruity and refreshing option is highly recommended.
