Not so long ago, if you asked for a non-alcoholic beer at a pub or a restaurant, you would be offered an O’Doul’s or an odd look. Thankfully, the non-alcoholic beer market has grown massively in recent years, and there are many top-notch non-alcoholic IPAs to choose from.
After trying different brands of non-alcoholic IPAs, I have narrowed them down to our list of the 20 best non-alcoholic IPAs. Here’s what I look for in a good non-alcoholic IPA: it must have strong hop flavors that is well-balanced against a malty body, and no thin watery body that plagues many non-alcoholic beers.
From Athletic Brewing to Partake Brewing, these are the non-alcoholic IPAs I recommend that everyone should try.
My number one pick for the best non-alcoholic IPA is Athletic Brewing Free Wave Hazy IPA. I love how full-bodied this non-alcoholic beer feels, and it is packed with hoppy aroma and flavors. If you love bitter beers, this non-alcoholic IPA will become your new best friend.
The Best Non-Alcoholic IPAs We’ve Tasted – Ranked
Our #1 Pick: Athletic Brewing Free Wave Hazy IPA – 4.5/5 Stars
Out of all the non-alcoholic IPAs we’ve tasted, this non-alcoholic hazy IPA by Athletic Brewing is the one that we can’t forget. It packs lots of citrusy hoppy flavors and a strong hop bitterness, and the mouthfeel is smooth and rich for an alcohol-free beer.
Free Wave is described as the perfect companion for cruising down the Pacific Coast Highway in a convertible or just cruising around the neighborhood on your bike (both of which you can actually do since it’s non-alcoholic).
We love this Hazy IPA so much, we even raved about it in our full Free Wave tasting review here. As if all of that wasn’t convincing enough, a 12-ounce can contains just 70 calories. The only reason I can think why you might not like this IPA is how bitter it is – you need to be a fan of bitter beers to enjoy this.

2. Untitled Art Juicy IPA – 4.5/5 Stars
If you name your beer Juicy IPA, I’m expecting lots of hops juiciness – which is exactly what I got with this non-alcoholic IPA. Wisconsin-based Untitled Art has loads of non-alcoholic beer options that I’ve tried, but I think the Juicy IPA may be one of the brewery’s strongest offerings (hence earning it a second spot on our list).
Here’s what I liked about this non-alcoholic juicy IPA: the Mosaic and Citra hops create the sweet fruity taste and bitter finish juicy IPA drinkers love so much. It is not as bitter as Athletic Brewing’s Free Wave, so it is perfect if you are looking for a notch less bitterness.

3. Sam Adams Just The Haze – 4.5/5 Stars
I didn’t think I was going to fall in love with Sam Adams Just The Haze, but I did! Sam Adams used to be go-to mass-market craft beer, and I’m glad to report that Just The Haze is as good – if not better – than the original.
This non-alcoholic Hazy IPA boasts a delightful sweetness and a fuller mouthfeel than many non-alcoholic IPAs, and its texture is remarkably smooth, soft, and almost creamy.

4. Bravus Non-Alcoholic Blood Orange IPA – 4/5 Stars
Bravus is one of my favorite non-alcoholic beer brands, and the Blood Orange IPA does not disappoint.
During my tasting, I found myself enjoying its citrus-forward notes and medium hop bitterness. While the blood orange is present, it does not feel overwhelming and gives the IPA a nice depth.
The mild sweetness allows the stronger hop bitterness to come out, while the dry finish and tartness gives this IPA some bite. Read my full review of Bravus Blood Orange IPA here.

5. WellBeing Brewing Intentional IPA – 4/5 Stars
Intentional IPA is chock-full of bitter Mosaic and Citra hops, punctuated with notes of citrus orange, mango, and lemon. The result is a hoppy, sweet, dry IPA that goes down easily.
I like it so much that I gave it four stars out of five in our WellBeing Intentional IPA review. Who knows? You might even forget it’s non-alcoholic.

6. Brooklyn Brewery Special Effects IPA – 4/5 Stars
Brooklyn Brewery’s Special Effects was one of the first non-alcoholic beers we tried when we decided to go sober. The Special Effects IPA is inspired by classic West Coast IPA beers and it features hoppy flavor notes like citrus and herbs.
The thing we loved the most about the Special Effects IPA is its complex yet well-balanced aroma and flavors. We tasted notes of tropical citrus, pineapple, mango, and grassiness, and the crisp body makes for light, easy drinking that’s perfect for hot weather.

7. Beavertown Lazer Crush – 4/5 Stars
We chanced upon this British non-alcoholic IPA while traveling and we were surprised by how good it tastes despite being a supermarket brand (with roots as an independent brewery).
With a strong fruity hop aroma, a mild hop bitterness, and plenty of fruits (pineapple, mandarin orange, and citrus), this non-alcoholic IPA from UK’s Beavertown Brewery has undoubtedly gained a spot on my favorites list.
We enjoyed the juiciness of the hops and the medium body, and thought this IPA is well-balanced without being thin and watery or tasting like fruit juice.

8. Partake Brewing IPA – 3.5/5 Stars
I found Partake Brewing’s non-alcoholic IPA to be thinner in body than the other non-alcoholic IPAs, but it has an old-school West Coast IPA taste that is worthy of mentioning.
In our tasting, we tasted fruity and floral notes combined with a slight malt character, creating a light, bubbly body with a thin mouthfeel. Partake Brewing is known for brewing super low calories non-alcoholic beers with only 10 calories a can, so I think there is some tradeoff in terms of flavors and mouthfeel.

9. Athletic Brewing Run Wild Non-Alcoholic IPA – 3.5/5 Stars
Everyone raves about Athletic Brewing Run Wild IPA, but I wouldn’t say this is one of the best non-alcoholic IPAs we’ve tasted. However, if you’re new to the whole non-alcoholic IPA world, Athletic’s Run Wild is a great place to start because it has inoffensive taste and a balanced bitterness.
This brew contains a blend of five Northwest hops, giving it a piney and citrusy hoppy flavor. We like that this non-alcoholic IPA has an approachable bitterness that’s balanced out by a malt body.

10. Untitled Art West Coast IPA – 3.5/5 Stars
I was looking for a West Coast IPA-style non-alcoholic beer and was really excited when I found Untitled Art West Coast IPA (especially after trying their Juicy IPA).
Brewed with Cascade, Centennial, and Simcoe Hops, Untitled Art’s West Coast IPA is bright and fruity, with juicy hints of floral hops, pineapple, and mango. The well-balanced body is complemented by a semi-dry finish.
Overall, it is a well-brewed, non-alcoholic IPA, even if I was expecting a stronger hop bitterness.

11. Flying Dog Deepfake – 3.5/5 Stars
Flying Dog Deepfake non-alcoholic IPA has lots of bold citrus flavors on the nose and palate, even if we think it lacks dimension and complexity. A one trick pony, if you will.
During our tasting, we were able to get aroma notes of orange juice and hints of grapefruit and mango. On the palate, the orange flavors continue to dominate (as you’d expect from a juicy IPA), followed by some mellow mango notes.

12. Woodland Farms Brewing Pointer – 3.5/5 Stars
Not only is Pointer one of the first non-alcoholic beers to come out of Woodland Farms Brewing, but it’s also Maine’s first non-alcoholic craft IPA. This non-alcoholic IPA is juicy and hazy from the blend of Amarillo, Cascade, Mosaic, and Galaxy hops.
It has slightly sweet notes of pineapple, orange, and citrus, but the hop aroma still shines throughout. I like that it has a medium body and a slight sweetness.

13. Brewdog Hazy AF – 3/5 Stars
Brewdog’s Hazy AF is a good attempt at a non-alcoholic NEIPA. Hazy AF has all sorts of tropical fruit flavors, from nose to finish. Grassy notes come in to keep things interesting, while oats and wheat keep everything smooth.
In terms of hops, the blend of Cascade, Chinook Citra, and Simcoe creates a bitter taste that’s well balanced by the citrus and oat flavors.

14. Lagunitas IPNA – 3/5 Stars
We used to drink lots of Lagunitas, and their non-alcoholic IPNA has been such a pleasant addition to our beer stockpile. It is brewed using the same blend of hops (Mosaic, Citra, and Columbus), Alberta barley, and crystal malt found in Lagunitas IPA, minus the alcohol.
The result is a citrusy, piney beverage containing less than 100 calories. It is not as bitter and aromatic as other non-alcoholic IPAs, so it might not be the best choice for you if you are seeking really hoppy non-alcoholic beers.

15. Grüvi IPA – 3/5 Stars
If you prefer lighter IPAs, then Grüvi IPA is perfect for you. This IPA is hop-forward using a combination of hops, including American Mosaic, giving it a citrus and light bitterness from the hops. Despite the “soft” flavor for an IPA, we found the taste pleasant and well-suited for a soft hopped non-alcoholic beer.
If you’re looking for a gluten-reduced non-alcoholic beer, Grüvi IPA is gluten reduced with less than 20 ppm.

16. Atmos Brewing Co. Kora – 3/5 Stars
Atmos Brewing doubled the fruit-forward hops (a blend of Chinook, Citra, and Mosaic) to create Kora, a non-alcoholic IPA. The hops, blended with yeast, create the classic hazy appearance and mouthfeel, minus the booze.
It is a little light-bodied for our preference, but we can taste the “craft” in this non-alcoholic IPA with the hop flavors. This is a non-alcoholic IPA we can see ourselves enjoying on a hike or at the beach.

17. Atmos Brewing Wayfarer – 3/5 Stars
Wayfarer is a danky, slightly malty San Diego-style IPA brewed with water from the Big Wood River in Idaho. It is chock-full of hops (Centennial, Cascade, Nugget, and Idaho 7), giving this non-alcoholic IPA a hoppy bite and a good amount of bitterness.
Overall the flavors are quite good, and there are notes of pine, toasted malt, and earthy, slightly fruity hops. We like this non-alcoholic IPA, but think the Kora is slightly tastier.

18. Rescue Club Non-Alcoholic IPA – 3/5 Stars
Featuring Citra and Motueka hops, this non-alcoholic IPA has the flavor profile of a light and sessionable IPA.
With aromas of citrus, pine, and tropical fruit, we noted in our Rescue Club IPA review that this IPA is bright and refreshing without being too sweet. Adding to its drinkability is the soft mouthfeel and slightly dry finish.

19. Best Day Brewing West Coast IPA – 3/5 Stars
While its name suggests a West Coast IPA, Best Day Brewing West Coast IPA leans more towards a softer hop presence. If you’re looking for a very hoppy IPA, this might not be the NA beer for you.
We like that it has the classic tropical and citrus notes supported by a slight malt backbone, before finishing with a soft, hoppy finish. Its medium body and light creaminess make Best Day Brewing West Coast IPA easy to drink all year round.

20. Industrial Arts Safety Glasses – 3/5 Stars
Since their inception in 2016, Industrial Arts Brewing Company has been gaining attention in the craft beer community of New York City.
Safety Glasses non-alcoholic IPA is brewed with Citra, Mosaic, and Cascade hops, which gives it a strong grapefruit, orange, and lemongrass aroma and flavor profile. We think the taste is closer to a NEIPA or a hazy, juicy IPA.
