Spain has been producing low and non-alcoholic beer since the 1970s and is now the largest consumer of low and non-alcoholic beer globally.

One of the more popular Spanish brewery which has alcohol-free options is Estrella Galicia – which is available as a non-alcoholic stout and this non-alcoholic roasted beer.

Here is my honest review of the Estrella Galicia 0.0 Tostada, the darker and alcohol-free version of their signature pale lager.

Reviewing the Estrella Galicia 0.0 Tostada

A Quick Look At Estrella Galicia 0.0 Tostada

The Estrella Galicia 0.0 Tostada is a darker variation of this alcohol-free beer. It is brewed using a method called “interrupted fermentation,” which halts the fermentation process before alcohol can be created.

Estrella Galicia is a Spanish brewery that has a long history, dating back to its founding in 1906 by José María Rivera Corral.

Over the years, Estrella Galicia has become well-known for its range of high-quality beers, including its signature pale lager.

Looks

Estrella Galicia 0.0 Tostada pours a clear brown with a nice egg-white color foam head that retains for about 30 seconds.

There are some fast-rising bubbles, but they quickly disappear.

Aroma

On the nose, there is a distinct toasted bread malt smell and roasted cereal grains.

There is also a whiff of freshly popped popcorn without the butter.

Taste

Just like the aroma I got on the nose, the beer has strong flavors of toasted bread malt smell and roasted cereal grains.

Initially, the first sip had a tinge of sweetness. The more I drank, the stronger the hop bitterness came through.

That said, I would call it a moderate hop bitterness as it wasn’t overpoweringly bitter.

The body is soft with low carbonation, and the finish left some bitterness on the back of my tongue.

Estrella Galicia 0.0 Tostada ingredients

Estrella Galicia 0.0 Tostada is a dark lager made with water, barley malt, maize, and hops.

Unlike some mass-market non-alcoholic beers, no sugar, natural flavoring, or aroma is added to the Estrella Galicia 0.0 Tostada.

According to their website, the malts are a blend of six types of malt with different degrees of toasting, and the hops used are the Nugget, Perle, and Sladek variety.

Estrella Galicia 0.0 Tostada calories

Final Verdict Of My Estrella Galicia 0.0 Tostada Review

I enjoyed the taste and aroma of toasted bread and roasted grains. The beer was refreshing, had the right amount of bitterness, and went down smoothly.

It is a decent-tasting Spanish beer that won’t disappoint you, but you won’t make it your favorite beer either.

This is a non-alcoholic beer that I would be happy to drink again.

Where to buy Estrella Galicia 0.0 Tostada

I bought mine in Lisbon at a supermarket, but I wasn’t able to find the Estrella Galicia 0.0 Tostada in online retailers.

If you would like to try the Estrella Galicia 0.0, you can order it online from Dry Drinker or Wise Bartender within the UK, and through Proof No More in the United States.
