After trying a Polish mass-produced non-alcoholic beer, it’s time to try a Polish non-alcoholic craft beer that hopefully will taste better. This time, I found a non-alcoholic Spanish Gose beer from Polish brewery Browar Nepomucen at a craft beer store in Krakow.

There is not a lot of information online about the brewery, but I’m excited to try something other than a lager or even an IPA. Read on for my tasting notes in this Nepomucen Ole Non-Alcoholic Spanish Gose review.

A Quick Look At Nepomucen Ole Non-Alcoholic Spanish Gose

Nepomucen Ole Non-Alcoholic Spanish Gose is a non-alcoholic Gose beer from Polish craft brewery Browar Nepomucen. Browar Nepomucen brews its beers in a restored 100-year-old bakery in Szkaradowo, and is known for brewing both traditional Polish and global beer styles.

Gose beers are wheat beers brewed with lactic fermentation, coriander, and salt, and are known for their sourness, saltiness and no strong hop bitterness or flavors.

Recommended Beer Glass: We recommend drinking Nepomucen Ole Non-Alcoholic Spanish Gose with a Tulip glass.

Nepomucen Ole Non-Alcoholic Spanish Gose Review

Looks

The beer pours a very hazy dark golden that reminds us of mango puree and has no foam head. Despite the opaque haziness, we can see lots of lively carbonation.

Aroma

On the nose, it doesn’t smell like beer. Instead, it has a strong fruity aroma that reminds us of orange juice, apple juice, and peach puree mixed together. We can’t really get the smell of any malts.

Audrey also detected some hints of medicinal/herbal notes like a cough syrup (which I didn’t).

Taste

Our first impression was that it does not taste like beer. Instead, the taste follows the aroma and tastes like carbonated orange juice with peach and apple. If it didn’t have non-alcoholic beer on the label, we would not have guessed that it is a non-alcoholic Gose beer.

Speaking of Gose beer, there is a taste of saltiness from the Himalayan salt and a lemon sourness. There is some sweetness from the malts and the puree, and zero bitterness from the hops.

The body is light while the mouthfeel feels medium-bodied with lots of bubbles.

Nepomucen Ole Non-Alcoholic Spanish Gose Ingredients

Nepomucen Ole Non-Alcoholic Spanish Gose is made from water, peach puree, orange juice and peel, malts: wheat, rye, barley, concentrated apple juice, lemon juice, Himalayan salt, hops, yeast, and Lactobacillus.

Final Verdict Of Our Nepomucen Ole Non-Alcoholic Spanish Gose Review

If you’re looking for a beer-like Gose beer, this is not it. As a non-alcoholic beverage, it is very tasty and refreshing. However, as a beer alternative, it feels too fruity with no malt backbone to resemble beer.

Great For:

  • If you’re looking for an interesting yet fruity and salty Gose beer alternative

Not Recommended For:

  • If you’re looking for a classic beer taste and mouthfeel

Where to Buy Nepomucen Ole Non-Alcoholic Spanish Gose

We bought our bottle in a craft beer store in Krakow, Poland. Unfortunately, we don’t see it being sold in the United States or the UK.

We hope you enjoyed this Nepomucen Ole Non-Alcoholic Spanish Gose review. Be sure to check out all of our other Polish non-alcoholic beer reviews!

A tasty non-alcoholic beverage on its own, but it does not remind us of beer.
