Northern Monk is one of the most popular craft beer breweries in the UK, and Northern Monk Holy Faith is their alcohol-free rendition of their famed 4.5% pale ale, Faith.

A Quick Look At Northern Monk Holy Faith
Northern Monk Holy Faith is a non-alcoholic hazy pale ale with lots of tropical fruit notes and moderate bitterness. It is brewed by Leeds’ Northern Monk, a craft beer brewery founded in 2014.
Holy Faith is the non-alcoholic version of Northern Monk’s famed Faith (5.4% ABV), a pale ale launched in 2015 and is one of the first New England style beers created in the UK.
With a goal to become the number one Hazy IPA brewer in the UK, Northern Monk has worked on becoming one of the UK’s most well-known craft brewery and can now be found in Tesco, Sainsbury’s, and Morrisons.
Northern Monk Holy Faith Review
Looks
Northern Monk Holy Faith pours a very hazy pineapple yellow with almost no foam head and very little carbonation.
The thin foam head doesn’t retain well either, so any traces of head quickly disappears and leave the beer looking like a pineapple juice.
Aroma
On the nose, we can smell notes of pineapple, mango, citrus orange – coming together like a tropical fruit basket.
The hops are really shinning here, creating a juicy smelling hazy pale ale. We can’t really smell any malts.
Taste
While the aroma was a strong note of juicy tropical fruits, the flavor profile was less impressive.
Overall, the taste feels more subdued than the aroma. There is the familiar taste of pineapple and mango from the hops, complimenting a light taste of malts.
The hop bitterness is moderate-strong and lingering.
Mouthfeel
The body feels thin but not watery – thanks to the lively bubbles (more carbonated than it looked).
The finish is dry.
Northern Monk Holy Faith Ingredients
Northern Monk Holy Faith is made from water, malted barley, oats, maltrodextrin, hops, and yeast.
The specific hops used are Citra, El Dorado, and Simcoe, which are known for creating tropical fruit flavors such as pineapple and mango.
Final Verdict Of Our Northern Monk Holy Faith Review
It is a light, crushable NA beer, but we both thought the Northern Monk Holy Faith tasted average.
Compared to many supermarket non-alcoholic beers, Northern Monk Holy Faith tastes more complex and interesting. But compared to other craft breweries, Northern Monk Holy Faith could be better.
Audrey didn’t feel like she was drinking a beer, plus she didn’t think she could drink more than one can each seating.
I thought the flavors were alright and light. I don’t love it, but could see myself drinking this again.
