While traveling in Poland, I came across this non-alcoholic white wheat beer from one of Poland’s popular mass-market breweries, Zywiec Brewery. Read on for the tasting notes in this Zywiec Biale 0.0 review.

What is Zywiec Biale 0.0?

Zywiec Biale 0.0 (Żywiec Białe 0.0) is a non-alcoholic white wheat beer from Polish brewery Żywiec. Founded in 1856, Żywiec is one of the largest brewery in Poland, and you can find its beers in every supermarket and convenience store around the country.

Once owned by the Habsburg Imperial Family, who were the rulers of Austria, the brewery was confiscated by the communist government of Poland after World War Two. In the 1990s, Żywiec Brewery was sold to Heineken.

Recommended Beer Glass: I recommend drinking Zywiec Biale 0.0 with a pint glass, which is a versatile cylindrical beer glass often used in pubs and bars to serve different beer types.

Zywiec Biale 0.0 Review

Looks & Aroma

Zywiec Biale 0.0 pours a slight hazy light golden color with no foam head. On the nose, I could smell notes of cereal malts and honey. Nothing impressive yet, and it smells like another supermarket non-alcoholic beer so far.

Taste

The taste of Zywiec Biale 0.0 is heavy on the cereal malts with a taste of honey. There is a medium amount of malt sweetness with zero hop bitterness. I was expecting some notes of coriander, but couldn’t taste it.

On the palate, the body is light and thin, although the beer foams up quickly in my mouth after each sip (likely due to a higher yeast content). The amount of foaming makes the beer a little unpleasant to sip on.

Verdict – Is Zywiec Biale 0.0 worth it?

Overall, Zywiec Biale 0.0 smells and taste like your average mass-market non-alcoholic beer with no distinctive notes other than the standard wheat and honey notes. I didn’t hate it, but neither was I impressed by it.

Where to Buy Zywiec Biale 0.0

I bought my bottle in a supermarket in Krakow, Poland. Unfortunately, I don’t see it being sold in the United States or the UK.
