Our trip to Estonia was a delight, with its stunning landscapes, delicious cuisine, and, of course, the exceptional non-alcoholic craft beers.

In this Ollenaut Kaineken IPA review, we invite you to join us on a flavor-packed adventure through this alcohol-free hoppy brew. Together, we’ll explore its unique flavors and share where you can get your hands on it in the UK.

A Quick Look At Ollenaut Kaineken IPA

Ollenaut Kaineken IPA is a non-alcoholic pale ale proudly brewed by the Estonian craft brewery Õllenaut. Renowned for its award-winning beers, Õllenaut Brewery continues to make waves in the brewing world. Notably, this IPA was honored with the Silver award in the 2021 World Beer Awards’ Best IPA Low Alcohol category for Estonia.

All of Õllenaut’s non-alcoholic beers are crafted using a unique yeast and a pasteurizer to create alcohol-free beers that faithfully retain the authentic beer flavors and enticing aromas. Õllenaut is famously known for using homegrown ingredients like Estonian rye malt and wild hops.

Recommended Beer Glass: For the optimal IPA experience, we suggest sipping it from a Spiegelau Craft IPA Glass. Spiegelau is renowned for setting the benchmark in beer glassware. This glass has a broader base and gently tapering inwards towards the rim. This design aims to accentuate the hop aromatics that are integral for enjoying an IPA to the fullest.

Serve the beer chilled, ideally between 42.8-46.4° Fahrenheit (6-8°C).

Looks & Aroma

Ollenaut Kaineken IPA pours a slightly hazy amber color with a thin egg white foam head. The foam head has an average retention and slowly dissipates to a thin foam lace around the glass.

On the nose, the beer is very hoppy and we can smell whiffs of tropical fruits and pine.

Taste

The hops continue to dominate the taste. On our first sip, we instantly taste the strong hop flavors followed by a punching hop bitterness. There are notes of citrus orange and pine as well as some herbal grassiness.

On the palate, the mouthfeel is smooth with soft carbonation. The finish is quite sweet with lingering sweetness on the tongue. The body feels creamy and full, which is a really good achievement for a non-alcoholic beer.

While the malt sweetness is present and maybe even a little sticky, the hop bitterness is strong and overpowers the sweetness. This is definitely for bitter beer fans only.
