Bravus Blood Orange IPA has been on my radar ever since I tried their Oatmeal Dark and thought it tasted like a Guinness stout.
This time, their Blood Orange IPA promises a refreshing IPA with the essence of blood orange and the sweet and tart goodness of fresh citrus.
Will this non-alcoholic Blood Orange IPA live up to my expectations? Read on for my full Bravus Blood Orange IPA review, tasting notes, and where to buy it.

A Quick Look At Bravus Blood Orange IPA
Bravus Blood Orange IPA is a non-alcoholic citrus-forward IPA with a low malt sweetness and a tangy, bitter orange profile.
Hailing from California, Bravus was the first craft brewery in North America to make non-alcoholic beers exclusively. It has won numerous awards for its non-alcoholic beers, including the silver medal in the Non-Alcohol Beer category at the 2019 Great American Beer Festival.
Bravus Blood Orange IPA Review
Looks
Bravus Blood Orange IPA pours a beautiful golden orange with a slight haze. The foam head is thin and lingers along the side of the glass.
Aroma
On the nose, I instantly smelled the goodness of fresh citrus and blood orange from the Citra hops.
There is a light malt presence from the grains, but the citrus orange dominates the aroma notes.

Taste
I love the taste of orange or citrus in my beers, and Bravus Blood Orange IPA did not let me down.
The blood orange is present but not overwhelming, and it gives this IPA a nice depth. There are some notes of grapefruit as well.
Meanwhile, the sweetness is subtle, allowing the hop bitterness to come out slightly stronger.
Mouthfeel
On the palate it is dry with a nice tartness for some bite. The blood orange lingers on as an aftertaste.
What I liked about this non-alcoholic IPA is that it doesn’t taste over-hopped or worse – too bland.
The body is crisp and refreshing, and the body is medium-light without being too watery.
Bravus Blood Orange IPA Ingredients
Bravus Blood Orange IPA is made from water, malted barley, natural blood orange extract, hops, and yeast.

I still love the Bravus Oatmeal Dark more, but the Blood Orange IPA is a close second.
Best For:

- Those who prefer hoppier and more bitter beers
Not Recommended For:
- Citrus orange dominates the flavor profile, so you might not like this NA IPA if you are looking for a maltier beer

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to find out which process Bravus uses to remove the gluten from Blood Orange IPA. However, a common method involves using an enzyme called Clarex to break down the gluten proteins.
While very effective, this process doesn’t completely remove gluten and those with a gluten allergy may still experience negative effects from drinking gluten-reduced beers.
