West Coast IPAs are known for being hop-forward and bitter beers, so I’m excited to see if the Bravus non-alcoholic IPA stays true to the West Coast IPA flavor and aroma notes.
Brewing out of Anaheim, California, Bravus has been around since 2015 and calls itself “America’s First Non-Alcoholic Craft Brewery”.
Bravus has previously impressed us with their Oatmeal Dark stout and Blood Orange IPA, so the expectation is high here.
Read on for my full tasting notes in this Bravus IPA review.

A Quick Look At Bravus Non-Alcoholic IPA
Bravus non-alcoholic IPA is a West Coast style IPA. West Coast IPAs are traditionally brewed with a higher concentration of hops, giving them a strong hop aroma, lots of bitterness, and citrus and pine notes.
If you like dry and bitter beers, you will love West Coast IPA.
According to Bravus, Bravus IPA is brewed with a lot of Simcoe and Citra hops to give it a hop-forward flavor profile.
Bravus IPA Review
Looks
Bravus IPA pours a moderately hazy straw yellow with a decent foam head. Unfortunately the foam quickly fizzles down to a thin foam lace.
Aroma
On the nose, I could smell notes of sweet cereal grains, lemon, citrus, and a strong malt aroma.
There was also some floral notes that reminded me of pine or grass.

Taste
The strong hops do come out boldly in this non-alcoholic IPA, and I could taste the hop notes of citrus, lemon, floral, and light hop bitterness.
The malt character isn’t too strong, instead it has a subdued grainy malt taste. The malt sweetness is also very light.
Mouthfeel
On the palate, it has a light-medium body with a moderate amount of carbonation that adds liveliness to the palate.
The finish is dry and it goes down smooth with a mild lingering bitterness at the back of my throat.

Bravus IPA Ingredients
Bravus IPA is brewed with water, malted barley, hops, and yeast. The hop varieties are Simcoe and Citra hops.

Final Verdict Of Bravus Non-Alcoholic IPA Review
I found Bravus non-alcoholic West Coast IPA to be an easy beer to drink. It is light, crisp, and well-balanced with its flavors and aroma.
For a West Coast IPA, I found the strong hop profile to be close to its original style, although it lacks stronger bitterness.
I would have preferred if the body had more depth to it as it has a light mouthfeel.
Overall, this is a very sippable non-alcoholic beer and I can see myself drinking this beer again.
Best For:
- If you like a lighter, more sessionable IPA.
Not Recommended For:
- Those who like their IPAs to be very bitter. This NA IPA has a moderate bitterness.
