Crafted in St. Louis, Missouri, WellBeing Brewery is one of my favorite non-alcoholic breweries in the world. Besides being a completely alcohol-free brewery, I have enjoyed every WellBeing Brewing non-alcoholic beer I’ve tried.

The Intentional IPA is one of their most popular beers, and it promises a refreshing beer punctuated with pineapple and peach notes.

Read on to learn more about my thoughts in this WellBeing Intentional IPA review, and find out where to buy it.

A Quick Look At WellBeing Intentional IPA

WellBeing Intentional IPA is a non-alcoholic IPA beer with delightful fruity characteristics of the Mosaic and Citra hops used to brew this beer.

Like all WellBeing Brewing’s beers, Intentional IPA is brewed like a traditional beer before the alcohol is removed using vacuum distillation.

Lactose is also added to give it a fuller taste, and the result is a full-flavored beer with lots of citrus notes.

WellBeing Intentional IPA Review

Looks

Wellbeing Intentional IPA pours a slightly hazy golden caramel with a frothy, thick foamy white head that has a nice retention.

The foam head slowly dissipates and it leaves a nice line of lacing around the glass.

Aroma

On the nose, I could smell notes of citrus orange, lemon, and mango.

This non-alcoholic beer is very fragrant and I’m loving the smell of citrus fruits from the Mosaic and Citra hops.

Taste

Taking my first sip of this non-alcoholic IPA, the taste follows the nose with the same notes of citrus fruits.

I can taste the juiciness of the citrus orange and lemon mixed with some bitterness and malt sweetness.

Mouthfeel

The mouthfeel felt a little sugar syrupy at first, but the sweetness starts to tone down after a while, and the hop bitterness can shine through more strongly.

The heavy carbonation also helps balance the sugar syrupy sweetness and gives the beer more body.

Overall, I like the juiciness of this non-alcoholic IPA and how the hops contrast the bready malt. The finish is dry with some sweetness from the fruit undertone, and there is so much flavor packed in a can of beer.

WellBeing Intentional IPA Ingredients

WellBeing Brewing doesn’t share the exact ingredients for the Intentional IPA, but they do mention that it is made from Mosaic and Citra hops.

Lactose is also added to give the beer a fuller mouthfeel, so this non-alcoholic beer is not suitable for vegans.

Final Verdict Of My WellBeing Brewing Intentional IPA Review

For a non-alcoholic IPA, the amount of hops helps make up for the absence of alcohol. The body feels full and punchy, and I really enjoyed drinking this flavorful and fruity beer.

While the sweetness was palate-coating at times, it didn’t taste artificial at all. Plus, the carbonation and hop bitterness helped balance the sweetness of the beer.

Best For:

  • Those who are looking for a hoppy beer with a presence of malt sweetness.

Not Recommended For:

  • If you prefer bitter IPAs, you might find Wellbeing Brewing Intentional IPA too sweet. I enjoyed the lack of bitterness, but you might want to pick something with a higher IBU (this is 30 IBU).
