We got to try different Polish non-alcoholic beers during our trip to Krakow, including the Zywiec Biale 0.0. Żywiec is one of Poland’s largest breweries, and they also brew a non-alcoholic IPA called Zywiec IPA 0.0.

The Biale 0.0 didn’t quite impress us with its taste, but will the non-alcoholic IPA taste better than the white wheat beer? Read on for my tasting notes in this Zywiec IPA 0.0 review.

A Quick Look At Zywiec IPA 0.0

Zywiec IPA 0.0 is a non-alcoholic IPA from Polish brewery Żywiec. As one of Poland’s largest breweries, you can find their alcoholic and non-alcoholic beers in supermarkets and convenience stores nationwide.

Originally under the ownership of the Habsburg Imperial Family, who ruled Austria, the brewery was later seized by the Polish communist government following World War Two. In the 1990s, Heineken acquired Żywiec Brewery.

Recommended Beer Glass: To fully savor your IPA, we recommend using a Spiegelau Craft IPA Glass. Spiegelau is celebrated for its excellence in beer glassware, and this particular design enhances the hop aromatics, ensuring you can relish the complete IPA experience.

Zywiec IPA 0.0 Review

Looks

Zywiec IPA 0.0 pours a slightly hazy amber color with a one-inch white foam head and lively carbonation.

Aroma

On the nose, we initially got some notes of the lychee fruit. That aroma was soon replaced with the smell of musty basement, molasses, and rye bread.

Taste

The taste resembles the aroma closely, with notes of roasted malts, rye bread, molasses, and some mustiness. There is a hint of hop bitterness, and the body feels thin and watery for an IPA.

On the palate, there is lots of lively carbonation which gives some body to the beer.

Overall, this non-alcoholic feels light and refreshing, which is not how we would usually describe a good IPA.

Zywiec IPA 0.0 Ingredients

Zywiec IPA 0.0 is made from water, wheat malt , barley malt , carbon dioxide, hops and hop extract, and coriander.

Final Verdict Of Our Zywiec IPA 0.0 Review

Zywiec IPA 0.0 feels and tastes like a pilsner rather than an IPA. The flavors are very basic, as you would expect from a mass-market brewery.

Best For:

  • If you’re in Poland and you’re looking for a light-bodied non-alcoholic beer

Not Recommended For:

  • Those who prefer hoppier beers

Where to Buy Zywiec IPA 0.0

We bought our bottle in a supermarket in Krakow, Poland. Unfortunately, I don’t see it being sold online in the United States or the UK. However, you might be able to find this beer at a Polish deli.
